Next Week is BIG

The stars aligned and I am fortunate enough to have the opportunity to spend time with my two favorite Associations in the same week.

On Monday I will be in Atlanta for the SHRM Annual Expo & Convention.  I’ll be sharing my thoughts on The Social Shift Monday afternoon and attending the Tweet Up that evening.  I’ll also be on the hustle consuming content from a lineup of luminaries that includes Condoleeza Rice, Malcolm Gladwell, Jim Collins, Tom Brokaw and Patrick Lencioni.  I will also have the opportunity to connect with a group of super smart, influential people many of whom I am proud to count as my colleagues and friends.

This is the definitive event dissecting the Future of Work and the conference has completely embraced the Social Shift. You can follow the action at #SHRM12.

Jerry Seinfeld is performing Tuesday evening, however, there will be no soup for me.

I am heading to Colorado for the Meeting Professionals International Annual Gala.  On Wednesday evening we’ll be celebrating success and honoring extraordinary achievement in the Meeting & Events industry.  Following desert I’ll share a few thoughts on The Communication Revolution and we’ll be rocking the outdoor Pavilion at Interlocken.  I can’t wait!

There is also BIG significance around the timing of next week. Two fiscal quarters down.  Two remain.  It represents the perfect opportunity to take a moment of pause and ponder results. Halftime.

How was your first half?  Crushing the 2012 resolutions list?  Exploding past the performance plan?

I am heading South to hit reset on Friday with my brother (celebrating halftime runs in the family) and our whole crew to take in the Coldplay concert.  I cannot think of a better way to end a BIG week then with the BIG show.  I’ll admit I am as excited for the Jim Collins keynote as I am for the concert and taking in both seems like the perfect plan for entering Q3 rejuvenated and ready for a big second half!

I hope your first half was extraordinary!  I hope we connect in Atlanta or Denver next week.

{Note:  We are putting the finishing touches on our second half 2012 calendar and already confirming for 2013. Give Lynn a call if we can help}
